1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Candour platform at candourmed.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Candour Ltd ("Candour", "we", "us", or "our").

2. Eligibility

The Service is intended for healthcare professionals, medical trainees, and individuals pursuing careers in healthcare. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

4.1 Plans

Candour offers a premium subscription plan with monthly and annual billing options. Some features (CV Builder, Job Finder) are available free of charge without a subscription.

4.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) via Stripe. You authorise us to charge your payment method on each billing date. All prices are in GBP unless otherwise stated.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law.

4.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to adjust subscription pricing. You will be notified at least 30 days in advance of any price changes. Continued use after the new pricing takes effect constitutes acceptance.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service without permission
  • Upload content that is harmful, abusive, defamatory, or infringes on others' rights
  • Misrepresent your identity or professional qualifications

6. Content & Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create on the platform (narratives, CVs, voice recordings, reflections). By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and display your content solely to provide the Service to you.

6.2 Our Content

All platform content, design, code, trademarks, and AI-generated materials are owned by or licensed to Candour and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written consent.

7. AI Features

The Service includes AI-powered features (Muse, Vox, Copilot) that generate content and feedback. AI-generated content is provided for educational and preparatory purposes only. It does not constitute professional medical, legal, or career advice. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated output before relying on it.

8. Community Guidelines

When using community features (forums, chat, symposia), you agree to engage respectfully and professionally. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate community standards, including harassment, spam, or sharing of confidential patient information.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding interview outcomes, career advancement, or employment results.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Candour shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request an export of your data prior to termination.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
